When it comes to giving someone a gift, most people will look for a something that stands out or in some way shows how much they care about someone.

Giving a gift to show a person how much they mean to you does not have to cost a fortune, In fact there is no better way to show your love than to spend some time making a list of 365 reasons why I love you.

When writing your list of 365 reasons why I love you, try not to focus too much on physical things, consider the persons likes, dislikes, things they say and most importantly the little gestures they make that make you smile.

An example of some of the reasons you could use when compiling your list of 365 reasons why I love you could be:

Your strength
Your devotion
How you are always 100% honest no matter what
Your kindness
Your smile
The way you are always happy first thing in the morning when I am grumpy
The way you take pride in how you look
The compliments you give me
The way you touch my face when we kiss
The little looks you give me when we are around friends
Your loyalty to me and everyone or everything that matters to you
Your compassion for everyone around you
Your selflessness
Your integrity
Your strength
Your devotion
The way you hold me
The way you liven up a room just by being in it
How much you have taught me about life and myself
Your intelligence
The fact that you are good at fixing things or putting things together by hand
Your zest for life
I love to wake up with you by my side It makes my days better.
You always make me feel that you are by my side no matter what.
I love that feeling of being secure when you wrap your arms around me
I love the way you keep your cool when I do something stupid.
Just being with you feels like I can defy the whole world.
You mean the world to me.
I like your small gestures that speak volumes about how much you care.

Once you have written your list of 365 reasons why I love you it may be a good idea to have a card made and place the list inside. You may even want to read the list to your partner over a romantic dinner. However you decide to present your list of 365 reasons why I love you, make sure you have taken time to list everything that means something to you, sometimes the silly things that people do are the things that make us love them even more.

One Minute' Kindness?

This morning, after having dropped my two sweethearts to school, I DID something and it made MY day…

At an intersection near Park Towers, I gave way to someone on a motorbike while I waited for 4.5 seconds…Technically, I had the right to go but I let him pass. Since this was an act which the gentleman on the bike was not expecting at all (How could a car let him pass!), he waved at me and went off smiling… His smile made ME smile and I feel so happy about it…So happy that I felt like sharing this with you.

I was wondering if it was at all possible to be kind to people in these tough times?
Where people hardly meet deadlines…Making ends meet is another story!
Do we have time enough to bring a smile to people’s faces, even for a second?
We don’t talk to our friends, dear and near ones on the pretext of being ‘tied up’…
Most of our conversations are on cell phones or emails… or twitter…
Are we happy? That’s a long discussion – check out The Bird Called Happiness (Happiness kis Chidiya ka naam hai)

All of the above is 100% true, yes?

And with all the above being true, how could you become a good human being, to be kind to someone, even for half a minute or less?

I am sure, you perform acts like these 10 times a day… But most people, including me, don’t.

Btw, I am not discussing giving charity, or social service or long commitments…No, my friend, I am talking about those small gestures that could make someone’s day and doesn’t cost you even a minute (of your precious time!).

An important thing to remember here is what I said in the beginning, ‘It MADE MY DAY’!
If you are kind to someone, YOU WILL FEEL HAPPY! Making someone happy has an in-built return which you receive right at the moment.

Giving away less than a minute for your own inner happiness? Doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all!

I am trying to collect people’s thoughts on this. I would like to know in your opinion which small gestures could make a difference.

I am sure the list will be very long.

In the comments section below, please share your every day experience on kindness and how you think we could all make a difference…

Have an excitingly outstanding life!

Aim for the moon!

Dare to dream!

Who Are You Being?

If you are not getting the results you want in life, then maybe it’s time to look at “who you are being” (not what you are doing) and what type of vibrations you are sending out to the universe.

I want to focus your attention not just on the action/doing part of your goals, but on the being part. Are you going through life with joy in your heart, flowing with your inner intuition, feeling spacious and happy, or are you struggling to make things happen, reacting in anger towards people, feeling stuck, or asserting too much effort?

It is clearly understood why we need to have specific goals with measurable milestones. What is not so understood is how the inner part of us affects the entire process of achieving goals. Who we are being plays an instrumental role in the outcome of our goals. Often people make the mistake of thinking when I have a million dollars then I will be happy, or  if I just find the right mate then I will feel beautiful and loved. This is wishful thinking, and if you are indulging yourself with this, then please stop. If your inner needs are not met and satisfied, no amount of money or external love will satisfy you.

Our inner attributes as expressed to the world, such as gratitude, joy, compassion and kindness, all add a rich quality to our lives and the lives of others. More importantly, the inner being creates the outer being and by focusing on the inner, you will notice magic beginning to happen for you. Your life will be more synchronistic, your goals coming into fruition with more ease. People will be drawn to you and want to help, and the universe will respond to you in direct proportion to what you give out. You will know which next action steps will bring you the most success.  Life will start feeling so very good.

The attributes I have personally chosen for this year are compassion and acceptance, to fully feel compassion and acceptance for all people and their situations. What attributes are you going to choose?

What type of person are you going to be?

Staying On Track

Either before you go to bed or first thing in the morning, take five minutes or more out of your day and deliberately decide what you would like to happen. Here is an example of what I do and it works. In fact it worked so well that I soon found myself outpacing myself.

My Morning Ritual

I wake up, make a cup of tea, and turn on relaxing music. I breathe deeply for a few minutes and ask my Angels to come and assist me, and then I ask what I need to know for the day.

Sometimes it will be an action list that I need to write down and other days it is to rest, play, or make certain phone calls. I know that when I follow my natural rhythm and inner guidance my life flows in rhythm with me and miracles are manifested in my life. It is meant to be this simple for we are all powerful creators.

Here is the prayer I use in the morning:

“Dear Angels, please surround me in love and light, please assist me in staying out of my ego and stressful situations. I ask for all impact from negative thoughts or emotions to be cleared away.  Please send the white light ahead of me touching all persons, places and things that I will come into contact with today. Please assist me in hearing my inner guidance and following through on it.  Please help me have a day filled with joy, laughter, productivity, compassion, acceptance and kindness to others along with wonderful miracles.”

I use the prayer below when I have specific goals that I am choosing to manifest. Be prepared to work!

I ask for Archangel Metatron to please assist me with my will power and inner resolve and to clear and clean all my chakras for me.

I ask Ganesh to please remove all obstacles from my pathway.

I ask Archangel Chamuel to fill my heart with love and to keep my heart fully open.

I ask Archangel Gabriel to assist me with my communications and speaking my truth powerfully and lovingly.

I ask Archangel Michael to help me stay out of fear and to operate from a place of inner power; I ask for all attachments to any situations, persons or things to be dissolved with love.

I ask Mother Mary to stand on my left side and assist me with loving myself and others deeply in all ways.

I ask Quan Yin to stand to the right of me and help me with compassion for myself and others.

I ask Archangel Uriel and Zadkiel to help me forgive and release any people or old hurts that I may be holding onto, help me to know that each person is doing the best that they can with their consciousness.

I ask God to use me as an instrument of love. I commit to staying aware of my inner voice and following it, and I know this is the only tool I need for my own healing and the healing of the world.

The above are examples that have worked extremely well for me. Try them out and notice what begins to happen in your life. Get creative and make up your own, but resolve to do it. If you would like me to record a special morning program/prayer for you by tuning in with your angels, please email me to set this up.

Sending you all much love, light, laughter, ease and joy.

Since the advent of Quantum Mechanics the way scientists see life has taken a huge leap forward leaving your everyday Jo far behind. What they discovered can basically be summed up as ” What you look for you will find”

It sounds simple but research is proving the truth of this time and time again. How can we use this understanding to change our Motivational Set Point and obtain the results we want?

When we understand that there are in fact two very different types of Motivation it can give us the clarity to adjust our thinking and change our life. Both types described below are useful but in the long run they achieve quite different results.

Positive Motivation is where the focus is on what you want to achieve. You know where you’re going. It is the result of positive thinking and will cause a sustained progress towards your goal. Holding the image of your goal in your thoughts will attract the inspiration needed to get you there. It’s effect is strong and consistent and the results achieved are prolonged and steady.

Negative Motivation can best be described as wanting to get away from an existing condition. A good example is someone that has grown up in poverty and will do anything to not fall into it again. This is a strong motivation and can be an effective “Kick Start” but the results it achieves are markedly different from those of Positive Motivation. The effect can often be likened to a roller coaster ride. A classic example are the countless millionaires who make there fortunes and lose them time and time again. This type of motivation lacks the sustained results that come from Positive Motivation.

Everything you experience in life is filtered by your beliefs. By simply changing your beliefs it is possible to completely change your life. Adopting positive thinking can erode years of negative programming and nurture your self confidence. Your goal setting immediately becomes backed up by the right mindset and attaining those goals becomes a matter of course.

How do you perceive the world? Which one of these beliefs best describes your attitude?

Life’s a bitch and then you die or

Life is an adventure, anything is possible.

If you want to you can find evidence that will prove either one of these statements. Both are true only in the light of your current beliefs. It is these beliefs that are driving your reality. Depending on which one we hold most dear our sub conscious mind will automatically search for the evidence to back it up. After all we love to be right!

Scientific evidence that supports this understanding of the way our thoughts shape our reality is actually easy to find.

The Placebo effect is a classic example. Knee surgeons were recently at a loss for words when a double blind surgery experiment revealed that the group of patients that didn’t actually have the surgical procedure performed at all reported as good as if not better results than the group who underwent the real procedure.

The Halo Effect is less known. It shows that if you strongly like a certain characteristic in someone then you are more inclined to perceive that person with any number of other positive attributes even though there is no evidence to back these up.

You can start to change your life now by actively looking for evidence that will quash your limiting beliefs. Start deconstructing your negative beliefs in this way and replace them consciously with affirmations and positive attitude.

Finding Innovation Inspiration

Let’s pause for a moment to celebrate three unique innovators who died this year: Curtis Allina, Art Clokey, and Walter Morrison.

What–you haven’t heard of them? I bet you know their creations well: Pez, Gumby, and Frisbee.

I dare you not to grin when saying those three words! Pez, Gumby, and Frisbee collectively represent fun, silliness, play, and many more happy emotions we want in our lives today.

When each of these gentlemen’s obituaries appeared within a month of each other, it made me pause. What lessons did their innovations teach? As I strive to be more creative and innovative, what inspiration can I take from their journeys? After exploring their lives and legacies further, here are the top three things I discovered:

1. Great Innovation Can Happen Even if Life’s Hard

You’d think that if you were a master of something as creative, as inventive, as FUN as any of these three playthings, that you probably lived a charmed life. But that was far from the truth:

• Clokey was sent to live in a children’s home when his mom’s new husband rejected him after his natural father died in a car accident.

• Allina’s family perished in concentration camps in the 40s, leaving him as the sole survivor.

• Morrison, a WWII pilot, was shot down and spent 48 days as a prisoner of war in Stalag 13.

Those setbacks didn’t get in their way–in fact, they may have led to even greater creativity and innovation. For example, Morrison’s aeronautic skills helped him refine his original flying disc. The abandoned Clokey was eventually adopted by a well-known composer who introduced him to an artistic life that certainly led him to pick up a handful of clay.

2. Accept Whatever Comes.

Gumby’s 1956 debut on “The Howdy Doody Show” led the stop-motion character to his own short-lived series and ongoing syndication. But his popularity faded in the 70’s, and creator Clokey struggled financially, according to published accounts.

Then a young comedian named Eddie Murphy played a foul-talking Gumby on Saturday Night Live in the 80’s. Many expected Clokey–the man who created TV’s religious-toned “Davey and Goliath” and who once planned to become an Episcopal priest–to be shocked and ashamed at how his creation was mangled.

But according to interviews, he loved it, although he was happy it was on late at night when children were sleeping (remember, this was the pre-TiVo era.) By accepting someone else’s interpretation and going with the affectionate outpouring, the edgy performance rejuvenated Gumby, and put the green guy in the hands of a whole new generation.

3. You Don’t Have to Create to be Creative

Pez was originally a Viennese mint, marketed to adults as an alternative to smoking. In fact, the stemmed dispenser was designed to look like a cigarette lighter. When the idea emerged to repackage the candy for children, company exec Allina had to persuade the conservative, European home office that the change would make sense.

Pez historian (now there’s a job!) David Welch told The New York Times that no one really knows exactly whose idea it was to put heads on Pez dispensers. However, Welch shared, “The idea came from the United States. And for the idea to have come out of the United States and made it to Austria where it could be approved, Allina was the only guy who could have made that happen.”

So whether Allina actually envisioned a Santa head on a stack of peppermints, we’ll never know. But he was the one to enable the creative move, to actually make it happen, and in the end, is credited with making the now multi-million dollar industry come to life. Not a bad legacy.

Speaking of legacy, it is worth noting one other thing these three men had in common. They all lived long lives: Pez’s Allina passed away at 87. Gumby animator Clokey died at 88; and Morrison, Frisbee’s father, died at 90. They left behind not only their respective innovations, but also buckets of inspiration for the creative spirit in all of us.

Where do you find your innovation inspiration–at work, outdoors, or at home in your garage? From music, TV, or a stroll through the mall? Who inspires you most–people you know well, or people you’ve only known from afar?

No matter what we dream to achieve in life, we can get it only if we have a positive attitude. Positive attitude is the key ingredient for us to be successful in any thing in life. And this doesn’t only apply to our professional lives. We need a positive attitude to succeed in our personal, family and love life also. This is one trade that you will see in all the successful people in the world. Without a positive outlook towards life, your journey through life will be full problems and miseries. Let’s discuss some ways by which you can set yourself for success.

1. Keep your eyes on tomorrow, not yesterday

Many times, we tend to focus on our past a little too much. We keep thinking about the mistakes we committed or the things we lost in the past. You must understand that past is gone. The things which happened in the past can never be changed, no matter how bad you feel about them. You are just wasting your precious time by getting disappointed about it. The best thing to do here is to learn from the mistakes you made in the past and not repeat them again. You will not gain anything by focusing in the past.

Therefore you must try to keep your eyes on the future. Because only if you concentrate on the goals and what is about to come in life, you can be successful. You can achieve your goals by making an action plan for the future and not by regretting your mistakes in past. Try to aim for the best in life. If you aim high then you can achieve whatever you want in life.

2. Be prepared for the worst

Aiming high in life does not mean that you will get what ever you want and whenever you want it. Life is full of ups and downs. Therefore, you should be prepared for the worst in life because if you are prepared for the worst then you will be able to handle the situation much better. If your mind is prepared for the biggest catastrophe that can occur in that situation then it will handle the little problems very easily.

For example, suppose you have set up a shop of merchandise. While expecting to get a great return from it, you must also be prepared for the scenario that the shop may not be a success and you may have to close it down soon. This is the worst case scenario. Now once your mind is prepared for the worst, you will be able to handle the small obstacles like price hike or temporary decline in sales much better. Again, it is our mindset that makes all the difference in the time of crisis. It all depends on how you handle the problem.

3. You will make mistakes. Learn to deal with them

Many times people think that they cannot make a mistake. That is not true. Every one of us makes mistakes in life. Therefore, try to learn from your mistakes. You should not try to be perfect at every thing because you are a human being and you are bound to make mistakes. If you made a mistake that does not mean that you failed at what you were doing. Try to turn each of your mistakes into a lesson to be learned for future. These lessons will take you closer to goals. And remember that mistakes don’t make us a failure but if we do not try hard enough to improve ourselves or lose hope in the mid way, then we fail ourselves in the course of life.

You must have a positive attitude to adopt these three essential qualities to achieve success in life. These qualities are the key to success in life and they should be seen as the most important possessions for us. And in order to posses these qualities you need to see the world with a positive outlook. So, adopt a positive attitude today, and see yourself be successful in life.

Have Positive Thoughts

Positive thoughts are not an easy thing to come by in this economic environment – whether you are tackling a mortgage, looking for a new job or just trying to make ends meet, it can get very difficult to put away the negativity and live a positive life!

Here is a question to think about that can help you put yourself into perspective and begin to focus on the positive more often.  Are You a Copy or Are You Better?

Good question.  To think about that can make you really want to hide under the covers.  Who am I? comes to mind..along with Why am I this way?  Am I different from others, or am I a copy of someone else?  Am I different or am I both?  Here is how I sorted through this question and brought myself to a new place in my own mind:

Thinking back to when I was growing up, I always wanted to be like someone else; have the same hairstyle or clothing; have the same toys and experiences, not realizing that my own life made me who I was, my own experiences and family, created the me that I could be.

Whenever a large question comes up in my life, I take some time to mull it over ( and not hide under the covers), usually while I take a nice long run outside.  To analyze this question the cool, crisp late autumn air helped me focus. By contemplating ‘copy’ or ‘better’ on my run I realized that now as an adult, I have experienced a great deal of life in different ways with both positive and negative circumstances, decided that this difficult question could actually be answered.

I thought about how I have become who I am today.  My influences, my family and my experiences  -both positive and negative –created the person I am today.  The lessons from the experiences I take with me and re-apply to continue to create an even better me every day.  I have realized that I am my own unique individual – certainly not a copy of anyone!

For the question of ‘better;’ – that could lead to very arrogant thinking and actions.  Am I Better?  The answer is both no and yes.  No I am not better than my influences or experiences and certainly not better that my family!  I can be a better me – everyday, every chance I get, by focusing on the world around me and how I contribute to it.  No copies, just a better me!

Maybe the falling leaves and change of temperature helped me to see how each season of my life could be better if I chose to make it so.  I no longer need to hide under the covers when questions that could change my outlook arise to face me.  I take my time to think it over and then decide what is best for me.  It took a long time to learn not to worry about what others think, and to know in my heart that being a better me for the world around me would actually be better for all.  Especially now, when life can get very overwhelming and hectic, taking a few minutes to focus on what is good about me, makes it easier to face the challenges that come at me.  I know that I can handle them!
